You finally decided to take those vacations and take advantage of the last few days your kids have off to enjoy a few days at the beach, and of course you're going to want to come back with a spectacular tan.
To achieve this, it is not enough to lie in the sun for hours waiting for your skin to get a golden color, because contrary to what you may think, your skin will be damaged and burned causing you to have shrimp skin that will end up falling off in the following days, making you look anything but glamorous. To avoid this, we give you 7 tips to get the perfect tan:
-
Prepare yourself days before: Incorporate melon, carrots and spinach into your diet, which will help your skin to have a browner tone due to the carotenes they contain. Also, try to exfoliate your body at least two days before going on vacation.
-
Use sunscreen and bronzer at the same time: To make your tan better and last much longer, apply a layer of sunscreen so that your skin does not get burned and damaged. Then apply a layer of bronzer that will make your skin take color faster.
-
Choose the perfect sunscreen and suntan lotion: make sure the sunscreen has a sun protection factor of less than 50. For the sun tan lotion, we recommend choosing those with of coconut, carrot and even olive oil for best results.
-
Measure exposure time: The recommended time to sunbathe is between 30 minutes and up to an hour a day to give the body a chance to produce the right amount of melanin.
-
Turn around: Switch sides every 15 minutes to get your whole body tanned. How do you think rotisserie chickens get that perfect golden color?
-
Give your skin a break: After being in the sun for some time, skin cells continue to produce melanin even when they no longer receive the sun's rays.
-
Hydrate: Not only should you drink plenty of water while in the sun, but you should also keep your skin hydrated with lotions or creams to prevent it from drying out.
